A pair of UFOs that look like fluorescent bulbs hovering in the sky puzzled several witnesses in Pike County, Kentucky last week.

In a report by the Appalachian News-Express, Kentucky State Police Trooper Shaun Little said the officers received five calls about the unidentified flying object, which was also seen from other Kentucky towns. However, no agency provided information on the strange sight.

Appalachian reported the strange object was seen at South Williamson area and Elkhorn City in Pike County. It was also spotted from Jenkins in Letcher County. But only in Virgie was the sighting filmed by an astronomy enthusiast named Alen Epling.

This UFO video clip was uploaded by user "AJEpling" to YouTube on October 19.

In his video description, Epling wrote:

"UFO sighted over Virgie, KY on 10/16/2012. Video taken by Allen Epling through a Meade 8" SCT astronomical telescope. I want to emphasize that the object is NOT moving. The picture is unsteady because I had to hold the camera in hand while trying to video it through the eyepiece of the telescope."

In describing the environment and weather at the time of filming, Epling wrote:

"Sighting was with clear, blue, cloudless skies, no aircraft in sight, altitude unknown but definitely above airliner cruising altitude. The object hovered roughly in the same location for over 2 hours, not drifting more than 10 degress in any direction. Was sighted approximately 60 degrees above the horizon. Image in video was shot with about 150 power magnification."

Angry comments over UFO filming

Epling drew haters for simply posting the UFO video. Trey Damron, a YouTube commenter who claims to be Epling's former neighbor had reacted in his defense:

"I was once a neighbor to Allen and his family. I grew up with and graduated with his children. I know this man. He is not a quack, idiot or any of the other derogatory names he has been called since posting this video."

Epling admits not being able to identify the object. That it might be some kind of balloon crossed his mind. But he told wkyt.com:

"(I)f it's a balloon, how could it maintain its structure at that altitude? It wasn't anything I recognized. Definitely not an airplane, and I've never seen a helicopter that looked like that."
