‘Two Fat Ladies’ Star Chef Clarissa Dickson Wright Dies at 66
After fighting alcoholism successfully for about 27 years the star of the popular TV show "Two Fat Ladies" died at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, she was 66 years old. Fans express their grief on social media and remember her contributions.
According to a report by ABC.net her agents Elly James and Heather Holden-Brown issued a statement. "Loved dearly by her friends and many fans all over the world, Clarissa was utterly non-PC [politically correct] and fought for what she believed in, always, with no thought to her own personal cost," said the statement.
According to the report Clarissa Dickson Wright was a barrister in London but her alcoholism and inheritance affected her career. She however overcame her addiction later in life. Her financial situation was not steady and she reportedly had to file for bankruptcy twice in her life.
Clarissa Dickson Wright shot to fame with Jennifer Paterson on a BBC TV show which showed the duo on a motorbike riding around in Britain in search of good food. Jennifer Paterson reportedly died of lung cancer in 1999.
