"Two and a Half Men" is going to lose its half. The U.S. sitcom has been renewed for 11th season together with casts Jon Cryer and Ashton Kutchen, but Angus T. Jones, who had once released a rant-filled video against the show, is noticeably absent from the line-up.

CBS network announced on Friday that the show will return for another season with both Cryer and Kutcher signing in for a one-year contract. However, former child actor Jones, who plays Jake Harper, the titular "half," will not be returning as a series regular.

Instead of a regular role, he might be offered just a significantly reduced role on the show. According to EW, production studio Warner Bros. is talking to the 19-year-old actor about the possibility of a recurring role.

It can be recalled that Jones bashed the show in a YouTube video in November last year. In the second part of the infamous video, Jones pleaded with the viewers not to watch his show because it's "filth."

"If you watch 'Two and a Half Men,' please stop watching 'Two and a Half Men.' I'm on 'Two and a Half Men,' and I don't want to be on it. Please stop watching it. Please stop filling your head with filth.

"You cannot be a true God-fearing person and be on a television show like that. I know I can't."

The video, which sees him talking to a spiritual counsellor, quickly became viral, with many people calling Jones an ingrate for attacking the show that made him famous. He was reportedly paid US$300,000 per episode in the programme.

He had apologised for his outburst afterwards, saying that he never intended to disrespect his colleagues, and that he was grateful for the show.

Fortunately, CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler had forgiven his outburst. In January, she told reporters that all was well between the network and the young actor.

"The kid's 19 years old. I've got a 24 year old. Between the ages of 19 and 24, there's been plenty of things my kid has come out and said that I wish he hadn't but the bottom line is cooler heads prevailed. [Jones has] been a beloved member of that cast for years and years and he issued a public apology.

"At the end of the day, they want him back and he wants to come back and that's it."
