U2 set to release new album, says Bono
U2 is set to release a new album.The band's main man Bono told Rolling Stone that they are working on 'club-sounding' album. U2 also plans to release a rock album and Songs of Ascent. The latter is a set of tunes from the recording session of the band's 2009 No Line On the Horizon. Last May, Bono had to undergo emergency back surgery in Munich. U2's 360-degrees World Tour resumed on August 6 in Turin. Reports say that U2 will bring their tour to Australia this December.
Bono said he thinks he 'could have made a limp work.' The singer said that there are a lot of bigger problems they were facing. 'But I came out of it perfect. And I feel incredibly grateful,'Bono said.
U2 had released 12 studio albums. The band is one of the most critically and commercially successful groups in popular music, having won 22 Grammy Awards. They have sold more than 150 million records. The band were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in their first year of eligibility in 2001. U2 is ranked by Rolling Stone at number 22 in its list of the "100 Greatest Artists of All Time."
