Irish band U2 treated concert-goers in Helsinki, Finland to a sneak peek of their up-coming album Songs of Ascent. In the Finland leg of their 360 Tour, U2 performed Every Breaking Wave reportedly the lead single to the band's upcoming album.

U2 had already played premiered three new songs on the current European leg of its 360° Tour: Glastonbury, North Star and Return of the Stingray Guitar.

After the debut performance of the song, lead singer Bono told the crowd in Helsinki that "no one has heard that before - not even us."

A video of the performance Every Breaking Wave is now available online on YouTube.

Recently, Bono told Rolling Stone that the band is working on a rock album, a "club-sounding" album, and the band's music for the Broadway play Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.

The U2 concert will also go to Australia later this year with a five-city tour with concert tickets starting at $40 to sell on September 3. At present, the band is in Russia where its front man Bono met with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.
