Bayern Munich vs. CSKA Moscow

Bayern Munich has been superb in its first four games in the German Bundesliga, but that impressive winning streak doesn't at all impress director of sports Matthias Sammer, who believes the ball club is playing with lack of emotions and intensity on the pitch.

"We need more emotion," Sammer told ESPN FC. "We were lethargic at times and that's not enough for the level we want to be at."

Bayern Munich pulled off amazing treble last season after winning the UEFA Champions League, DFK-Pokal and Bundesliga crowns all in one season.

Now, the German football powerhouse is gunning to be the first professional ballclub in Europe to win back-to-back UEFA Champions League title. However, Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng insisted they would take thing one step at a time.

"Of course we want to be the first to do that," Boateng told ESPN FC. But this is just the beginning and we're not thinking about that yet. We're taking things game by game and, right now, our priority is to make a good start to the group. We want to go as far as we can and to do that, we've got to be on fire from the beginning."

Manchester City vs. Viktoria Plzen

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany is expected to suit up for his football club after several games due to a groin injury he suffered in the season opener. According to ESPN FC, Kompany has already travelled with his teammates ahead of Manchester City's clash with Viktoria Plzen.

City's Manuel Pellegrini said Kompany has already started practicing for the past two days and expressed his confidence for his defender to perform well in the Champions League opener.

"Vincent has worked with us normally for the last two days. We will see if he is 100 per cent. If he is, of course he will play. We will talk with the doctor and decide. I think he will be 100 per cent, but if he is not he will not play. We have a very important match but we have other players if any are not 100 per cent," the Manager told ESPN FC.
