UFC 168: Australian Netizen Tells Anderson Silva to 'Break a Leg' and Then it Happens

Do you believe in prophecies and predictions? Well, a netizen apparently gave a recipe for it in the recently concluded UFC 168 fight between Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman.

Bleacher Report initially reported that a day before the UFC 168 event, Tim Reuben commented on a post of the Brazilian mixed martial arts fighter on Twitter. Reuben responded to one of Silva's posts to cheer the former UFC Middleweight Champion some good luck.

"Break a leg tomorrow," wrote Reuben on Twitter. "Hopefully not yours," he added.

"Break a leg" is a recognised idiom which means "good luck." However, there is a theatrical superstition that says wishing a person "good luck" is actually considered "bad luck."

Well, Rueben undoubtedly didn't wish Silva bad luck. It could just be a coincidence, but just try to visualise the netizen's reaction when Silva actually broke his leg during the fight.

"Holy Sh*t! What did I do? I broke Anderson! #UFC," Reuben tweeted after witnessing Silva's shattering leg injury. Then, he changed his profile information adding "Apparently, I broke Anderson Silva's leg" to it.

Rueben instantly became famous on Twitter, but became the most hated man in Brazil too. An outbreak of violent reactions erupted on the popular social media platform attacking the Australian netizen.

"Listen here, Tim Reuben from Sydney, Australia, you're getting f*cked now, you little faggot, RIP TIM," a Twitter user, who goes by the handle @OMGItsBirdman, tweeted.

"You're a f*cking dirtbag, I hope you die a horrible death," another Twitter user wrote.

Reuben was really cool even if he's being criticised by other people following the unpleasant irony of his "break a leg" good luck wish to Silva. He even retweeted some of hateful tweets towards him on his Twitter timeline.

"Pros and cons of being me, Pro: I got 700 followers yesterday, Con: most of them want to kill me," Reuben tweeted on Monday.

Silva's luck was just really bad that people feel he was jinxed by the Australian netizen. There is no question that bad luck really caused his defeat. No one wouldn't really want the injury to happen, but it's a part of the game, especially in the sports event like mixed martial arts. Having an injury is really imminent.
