UFC Fight Night 26: Shogun Rua vs. Chael Sonnen was full of exciting fights and finishes. But probably, what stood out among the rest is Sonnen's win against Rua in the main event of the evening. The fight itself was exciting and the post-fight interview added some colour for the end of the night and gave us something to look forward to.

The American fighter or "The American Gangster," as what he would like himself to be called, employed a great game plan in his fight against the very game Brazilian. He took down his opponent as early as the start of the first round and maintained the wrestling game in the remainder of the round.

Sonnen's game plan seemed to work, as he turned the match against the Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belter Rua into a grappling game. The Brazilian actually surprised many when he managed to take The American Gangster himself.

Sonnen's underacted submission game became the decisive factor in the fight when he managed to catch Rua in a guillotine choke seconds before the end of the first round. This surprised fans inside the UFC arena who didn't expect that type of finish from the former middleweight and light heavyweight title challenger.

But The American Gangster did not make the excitement end only after the fight. In his post-fight speech, he called out an opponent in the way he is popularly known for. "Right here on the UFC's new home, FOX Sports 1, Wanderlei Silva, 6 feet tall and 205 pounds," he said in the interview with Joe Rogan.

The two have a bit of a rivalry right now, with Sonnen saying different types of insults against Brazilian fighters and people and Silva giving him a pointer about respect. Both have been campaigning for the fight but it failed to materialize.

After the call out, there is still no response from Silva, but two other Brazilians are willing to step up and fight Sonnen.

"@sonnench don't run from me. Why are u asking for wand? Let's fight," Belfort tweeted.

"Since @vitorbelfort hasn't accepted our fight,I am sure that @danawhite can match me against @sonnench," Machida said in Twitter.
