Perez took down his opponent, but Mizugaki was able to crawl up using the cage. With Mizugaki back on his feet, the round continued. Perez caught a kick from Mizugaki and took him down again. Mizugaki landed his own takedown and ended in half gourd. The Japanese gained back control and was looking to lock up a choke but Perez was able to defend himself from the attack.

Round one went on a very tiring pace for both fighters.

Round 2

Mizugaki landed a right hand in exchanges. He seemed to be doing a great job countering Perez's punches. Perez tried to take down Mizugaki, but the latter defended well. Mizugaki landed some clean shots and went for a takedown but was unsuccessful.

Mizugaki landed a left hand. Meanwhile, Perez quickly looked for a takedown but was unsuccessful. Mizugaki timed Perez with a perfect straight right hand. Perez tried another takedown, but Mizugaki sprawled and defended.

Round two was a strong round for Mizugaki.

Round 3

The third round was the deciding factor for the fight. Mizugaki landed combinations and tried to take down his opponent. Perez tried to steal the round with a takedown, but Mizugaki was able to go back up using the cage.

Mizugaki used a body lock to take down his opponent. Action continued in the ground. Perez tried to get up, and Mizugaki took the back. The Japanese locked a choke, but Perez was able to defend. Perez tried to take Mizigaki on the ground once again, but the Japanese was able to stand up once again.

The last round ended with a flurry of punches from both fighters.

Result

The fight was great show of effort from both fighters. The crowd seemed to appreciate it. Round one seemed to go to the Mexican and round two for the Japanese. The result was Mizugaki winning via split decision.
