UFC Fight Night: Shogun Rua vs. Chael Sonnen is almost just a week away from now. But still, the verbal jabs that fans are expecting every time Sonnen is having a fight seem to be out of the picture in his upcoming fight (is it because he respects Rua so much? Or does he have other plans we don't know about?). Nonetheless, it is always fun to reminisce about the "words of wisdom" that The American Gangster has spoken of all over the years. Indeed, these are quotes that are worth quoting.

On Wanderlei Silva, the arch rival of Sonnen whom he actually doesn't even has the chance to meet inside the Octagon ...

"Wand, you might as well fill out your own toe tag. Where is says 'Cause of death,' just write, 'I pissed off a Gangster.'"

The rift between the two started when the American begun throwing verbal jabs on Anderson Silva (and the whole Brazilian community!) prior to their scheduled championship bouts. This does not escaped Wanderlei's attention, and he actually thought Chael a lesson about respecting the people of Brazil in his video blog posted on YouTube.

On Brazil, a place where "Uncle Chael" is famous for bashing its people whenever he is scheduled to fight a Brazilian ...

"As far as my impression [of Brazil], it's a lot like America. When I was a little kid, I remember going outside. I'd sit around with me friends, we'd talk about the latest technology in medicine and gaming and American ingenuity and I look outside and Anderson and the Brazilian kids are sittin' outside playing in the mud ... so, it was really a lot like it."

On the former middleweight champion Anderson Silva ...

"This guy walks around with a fake belt! That's insane! I would never do that!"

Sonnen was defeated by Silva during their first matchup but was able to dominate the Brazilian using his wrestling for four rounds before being submitted via triangle choke in the fifth round. Preceding their rematch, the American believes that the fact that he dominated Silva for the majority of the rounds during their previous battle is enough to proclaim him as champ. He actually made and carried a fake belt during press conferences.

Sonnen's hatred for the Brazilian fighters seems genuine enough to call all fighters in the UFC having the last name Silva. It's so amazing that it seems surreal already.

"I want an easy fight. Anderson Silva, Wanderlei Silva. Either of the Silvas. Bigfoot Silva. They all suck. Gimme a Silva."
