UFC President Dana White gave in to Cat Zingano's fancies and placed her against the reigning women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. Not only that, it comes hard and fast as Janaury date has been set as preliminary to the Jon Jones-Daniel Cormier headliner. This update might set the top contender back up to March.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) issued the medical suspensions for UFC 178 Monday which detailed among others the requirements of players before they can step back into the Octagon, much less spar in trainings. Among the fighters named is Zingano who has to get medical clearance on her back or else she will be suspended until March 27. If Alpha does not produce the needed documents, her dream match is in jeopardy as relayed by Yahoo Sports.

The 32-year-old fighter has been sidelined for more than a year due to a troublesome knee. Her win over Amanda Nunes via an impressive knockout in the middle of the third round was more of a showcase that the lady from Colorado is still in tip top form and ready to challenge the belt for the 135-pound division. Yet, pundits are already ready to pencil in Rousey as the winner months before the match.

One of whom is Meisha Tate, the woman who has already faced both Zingano and Rowdy. Tate gave a bold prediction that the "Alpha" will submit in the early minutes of the first round and will be thoroughly dominated by the current champion.

"I think that Ronda is going to win the fight. Zingano starting slow two fights in a row is not going to serve her well with Ronda, who is a fight-finishing machine. She finishes fights in the first round. You can't come out to a slow pace and expect to get out of a round with Ronda Rousey," Tate told The Under Grounds's Jonathan Schrader in an interview.

Before Zingano can prove Tate and all her detractors wrong, she must first get her clearance first in order to solidify the match she has been preparing for her whole UFC career.
