The prospect of current World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar returning to the mixed martial arts (MMA) world is already attracting a lot of adversaries. Among them is long-time rival Frank Mir, who would like to have a third go with the former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champion.

The only person to boast UFC, WWE and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) wrestling championships, Lesnar has apparently crawled his way back to good health after a long bout with diverticulitis and diverticulosis. Due to his clean bill of health along with the upcoming expiration of his contract with Vince McMahon's company, speculation is ripe that the Beast Incarnate is eyeing a comeback to the UFC by 2015.

As one of the top draws of the UFC, experts predict that fans will be ecstatic if ever he returns and revives rivalries with his fellow heavyweights such as Cain Velasquez and Frank Mir.

Mir is one of those fighters who would welcome him with open arms. In fact, Mir was the debut fight of Lesnar way back 2008 at UFC 81. While Mir got his number early, Lesnar clawed the way to the top after getting the belt from Randy Couture. Mir , for his part, was on a parallel path after winning interim heavyweight belt from Antonio Noguiera. The Beast Incarnate was on the stands that day and Mir was adamant in calling out Lesnar that he had his belt, setting up a rematch and unification bout for the heavyweight championship.

The second fight between the two was postponed but eventually happened July 2009 wherein Lesnar finally got one over Mir via technical knockout (TKO) in the second round. Now, with the score tied up 1-1, Mir wants his shot at settling the rivalry once and for all, that is, if Lesnar goes back to the Octagon.

"He is still popular, people still know who he is and this brings more attention. He and I have a win each in the times we face. A new fight between us would be very welcome. I'd love to welcome him in the UFC," Mir said per Globo, a site covering mixed martial arts news.

Given that both fighters last succumbed to Alistair Overeem, it would be logical to pit the two for Lesnar's comeback to the sport. While Mir is on the downhill after losing his fourth straight to Overeem, the beast Incarnate was coming off a controversial loss after Overeem tested highly for testosterone levels. Nevertheless, the word is out there that after declaring in his last official UFC fight, he might just come back healthier than ever.
