Angelina Jolie has shot some scenes for her upcoming "Unbroken" movie in Brisbane, Australia. On Oct. 16, 2013, she went to Moreton Bay on Australia's eastern coast, just 45 km from Brisbane in Queensland.

According to Jolie, the shoot was challenging.

"On set, we started to joke and say "Tomorrow will be easier," knowing full well that on this challenging shoot, there are no easy days," Jolie said in The West Australian report.

"Any time it gets tough, we think of the real men who lived through this and no one complains. In fact, we all just feel honoured to be here."

The film's cast members also had to restrict their diet for several months to look convincing as castaways who are starving to death.

Aside from Moreton Bay in Brisbane, another location for the shooting of the film is Cockatoo Island, a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Site.

"Sets are being built on Cockatoo Island for the majority of the production," noted The West Australian.

Cockatoo Island is located in Sydney Harbour, New South Wales (NSW), at the intersection of the Lane Cove and Parramatta rivers.

The film "Unbroken" is about the true story of Olympic track star and war hero Louis "Louie" Zamperini, who is played by Jack O'Connell. Zamperini's plane crashed in the Pacific Ocean theatre, which was a theatre of the war between Japan and the Allies during World War II. It included most of the islands of the Pacific Ocean, except mainland Asia, Australia and western part of the Solomon Islands.

Zamperini reportedly spent 47 days surviving on a raft, drifting on the ocean. After that, he became a prisoner of war (POW) in Japanese camps.

Jack O'Connell's acting credits include several TV series such as 2005's "Doctors," 2011's "The Runaway" and "Skins," which is currently on its 7th Season.

"Unbroken," directed by Angelina Jolie, also stars Garrett Hedlund of "TRON: Legacy" and "On the Road," and Domhnall Gleeson of "About Time." The film's script was written by Ethan Jesse Coen and Joel David Coen, who are collectively known as the Coen brothers. Their previous films include "Fargo," "The Big Lebowski," "True Grit" and "No Country for Old Men." "Unbroken" is based on Laura Hillenbrand's novel "Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption." It is scheduled for release in 2014, in some parts of the world and in Jan. 2015 in Australia.
