‘Uncharted 4’ DLC teased with new feature for June 29, microtransactions booming in game
This week will see the first multiplayer DLC for “Uncharted 4.” This new pack will introduce new weapons, skins, boosters, a map and more, and it will be the first in the Multiplayer Roadmap.
Apart from the features enumerated above, the Owners of the Triple Pack will get the bonus items for MP Pack #1. Over at the official Naughty Dog website, the developer confirmed that there will be an extra bonus item, though they did not detail what it was.
“There’s one in particular we won’t reveal here, but you can probably guess what it is if you’ve been tracking what is likely the most requested new feature by our community,” said Naughty Dog.
Naughty Dog is holding another multiplayer team Twitch stream on June 30, 11:30 a.m. PT. The discussion will revolve around the ranked team death match changes as well some post-patch issues. Naughty Dog already has its multiplayer DLC all planned out until Spring 2017. Most of the additions are weapons, boosters, skins and vanity items.
The support for “Uncharted 4” has been overwhelming from fans, so much so that game sales are not the aspect that has seen good figures. According to VentureBeat, the game has scored US$56 million from microtransactions alone in May. This data, which came from intelligence firm SuperData Research showed that this may be the reason why “Uncharted 4” remained to be among the top grossing titles on console for the month.
The microtransactions are part of the game, as it enables players to unlock content for the multiplayer mode. This seems to have boosted the game up the charts as well.
Interestingly, it had beaten out top contenders, including the likes of “Call of Duty Black Ops 3” and newer titles like “Overwatch” and “Tom Clancy’s The Division.” This is a considerable achievement given that “Uncharted 4” only released on the PS4.
