Katy Perry has taken her new single "Unconditionally" to a new level. The "Roar" singer released her riveting ballad Nov.19 at MTV. The video reminds us of glamorous parties thrown in the novel "Great Gatsby" and Perry is seen donning beautiful 1960s inspired dresses in most of the scenes. Shot in a vintage style, "Unconditionally" is something Perry has not done before.

Before releasing the video, Perry told MTV that "Unconditionally" is less of a story and more about looks. However, she had included a dramatic scene where she was hit by a car. According to her, "Getting hit by a car is like falling in love."

Her new single is inspired by her love for John Mayer and her experience in Africa. She revealed to Entertainment Weekly, "I went to Madagascar and did a UNICEF trip that changed my life and gave me this song. It's just a simple message about loving someone and accepting them and kind of driving at you don't have to be so self-conscious, you don't have to fear, because essentially, everybody has their stuff. Nobody comes stuff-free."

She added, "Everybody has their things and you're never going to be perfect, and accepting that and understanding that, especially in a relationship, it makes room for a real, genuine kind of love."

It seems Perry is madly in love with Mayer and her relationship is doing good to her. She was recently seen happy and relaxed while taking a break from her maddening "Prism" promotional tour in the Miami beach.

Although Mayer could not join Perry, there was a rosy glow on her cheeks. It has been rumored that Perry and Mayer will soon be engaged . A source told usmagazine.com, "Everyone knows it's just a question of when John will propose."
