‘Under the Dome’ Season 2 Spoilers, Premiere Episode Title and Synopsis Revealed!
"Under the Dome," the show which is based on Stephen King's book of the same name, is set to return on June 30, 2014, with 13 new episodes of Season 2. King is set to make a cameo appearance in the first episode of the upcoming season. The first episode of Season 2 is titled, ""Heads Will Roll."
According to the official synopsis of "Under the Dome" Season 2 Episode 1, "Barbie's fate lies in Big Jim's hands, and the Dome presents a new threat when it becomes magnetized. Meanwhile, Julia seeks out the help of a stranger to save the life of a mysterious girl who may hold clues to origin of the Dome."
Barbie was last seen in Episode 13, "Curtains," of "Under the Dome" Season 1. He was all set to get hanged. In the season finale, Big Jim was seen urging Junior to pull the lever and put an end to Barbie's life. It was not shown whether Barbie was hanged, or not, in front of the residents of Chester's Mill.
TV Mega Guide reports that things do not look great for Barbie in the upcoming season. The report reveals that Junior refuses to hang Barbie, and thus he is not one of the two characters dying in the premiere episode of "Under the Dome" Season 2. But, Barbie will find himself facing more problems.
"However, given the new problems headed Barbie's way, he might wish he was dead," according to TV Mega Guide's spoiler.
The first episode of the new season is written by King and he has warned that no one is safe in Season 2. King is also the executive producer of the show.
"One of our characters [meets] a very untimely death," said Neal Baer, executive producer of the show, as quoted by TV Guide. "So will another character; they meet their untimely death as well." However, the death does not mean these characters will not appear again.
The untimely death "doesn't mean you won't necessarily see them again because anything is possible under the dome," Baer said.
The Season 2 will be dealing with the conflict between science and faith. It is also the season of transformation, according to Baer.
