Under the Dome Season 2 Spoilers: Scene 1 Introduces Big Jim’s Reclusive, Crazy Drunk Brother-in-Law
Stephen King has written the premiere episode of "Under the Dome" Season 2. He has warned that no one is safe in the Season 2. Recently, he read out the opening scene of the upcoming premiere episode, which is scheduled to air on June 30, 2014. His reading of Scene 1 suggests that the first episode of "Under the Dome" does not open at the site where Big Jim is shouting at Junior to pull the lever to hang Barbie. The Scene 1 is introducing a new character called Sam.
Eddie Cahill has been roped in to play the character of Sam, the "reclusive" brother-in-law of Big Jim. He is a series regular and according to reports, his character will be seen bonding with the character of Julia. TV Line has described him as the "crazy drunk who lives alone in the woods."
The Scene 1 introduces Sam. King describes him as someone in his late 30s, handsome but haggard. "Scene 1, interior, Sam's cabin -- day but dark outside. We are staring at a brilliant white dome. It goes dark, returns brilliant white, then it goes dark again. A finger flicks the dome and it glares bright white, again. We pull back and see it is ... We're in the living room of Sam's cabin, the bachelor's pad of a man who is drinking hard until two weeks, ago and hasn't done much house-keeping, since ... His emergency bottle is beneath. He struggles with the urge to pick-it up, almost gives in but a flash of white light stops him. He rushes to the window and looks out at the bright sky," King can be seen reading these lines from the script in a video posted by Entertainment Weekly.
Official Synopsis of the Premiere Episode, which is titled "Heads Will Roll":
"Barbie's fate lies in Big Jim's hands, and the Dome presents a new threat when it becomes magnetized. Meanwhile, Julia seeks out the help of a stranger to save the life of a mysterious girl who may hold clues to origin of the Dome."
As reportedly previous, there are two major deaths in the premiere episode, but Barbie is not one of them. He survives but lands in more trouble.
