The ‘Undying’ Death Hoax of Jackie Chan [PHOTOS]
Why does Jackie Chan keep on dying?
The hoax that won't die is storming the Web… again. And this time, reports of the actor’s death hit both Facebook and Twitter.
While some wonder if the agile actor gets a kick out of recurring news of his death, most of his fans are not too happy about it.
This is not the first time Chan has been rumored dead. Early this year, a rumor caused an uproar late March and was extended on April Fool’s Day, no less.
And the news keeps on killing him. At least, online.
On Thursday, a Facebook Page was created titled, “R.I.P. Jackie Chan (8/17/11).” In just an hour, it recorded more than 50,000 "likes." After five days, more than 400,000 Facebook users have “liked” the page.
As if one page is not enough, more Facebook pages claiming his death had surfaced.
The reliving of Jackie Chan’s death has prompted his representative to issue a statement, assuring his millions of fans that the “Rush Hour” actor is alive and well.
"Jackie Chan is alive and well. He did not suffer a heart attack and die, as was reported on many social networking sites and in online news reports", Chan’s rep posted. He is "busy preparing for the filming his next movie."
The same note is posted on Twitter.
