Unlimited Movie Streams by Quickflix at $15/month
Australia is about to enjoy the big business of direct digital movie streaming. Netflix, the world's leader in this market, achieved about 25 million subscribers just at the end of the month of June. It came with a share price of $287.73 come middle of July.
An Australian online movie rental business, Quickflix, introduced their own version of this digital movie streaming business to have claims in the local scene. The good news is that it will only cost about $14.99 each month.
It will begin with the modern televisions of Sony along with the variety of Blu-ray players. It will run on personal computers and most Macs starting Nov. 10 to be followed by other gadgets like the Sony Playstation 3 amongst many others.
Chris Taylor, the head of Quickflix, admitted that they are going after the same approach and business model that Netflix uses. Even if the share price of the U.S. firm declined by about 35 percent, Taylor believes that this will not mean the same destiny for the local company.
According to Taylor: "Netflix's woes have come out of bad execution, not out of bad business." He also shares that Netflix started with a price that was way too high already that it eventually led them to a point of always having the need to increase it.
Quickflix, to date, already has 50,000 movies in their catalogue when they started out as a successful online movie rental service. They have announced that they will render ideal subscription packages and pay-per-view offerings for the latest film releases. As a good treat for customers, they will give free access starting November 10 up to the end of this year.
The company has already negotiated deals with five studios, which already include Warner Bros International along with Sony Picture Television. In time, they also have plans of sharing content for television and small-scaled films.
