The upcoming "The Avengers" adaptation made an impression over the weekend at the New York Comic-Con and actors Chris Evans and Tom Hiddleston arrive at a panel discussion about their film at the Javitz Center in New York City.

The 30-year-old actors were joined by co-stars Cobie Smulders and Mark Ruffalo as well as Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige with Feige making the biggest announcement by admitting that Marvel is already thinking about an Avengers 2.

"Iron Man 3 will be the first of what we sort of refer to as phase two of this saga that will culminate, God willing, in Avengers 2," Feige stated during the panel discussion.

While "The Avengers" has a while to go before it opens in theaters, Marvel has good reason to start thinking about a sequel based on reaction to the "Avengers" trailer which was downloaded more than 10 million times in the first 24 hours from iTunes alone when it was released.

Feige said that he is currently at work on Iron Man 3 which will hit theaters in May 2013, a year after the release of "The Avengers." He also revealed that "The Avengers" will continue the tradition of a post-credits or ending scene that sets up the next Marvel movie."It's a nice tradition, and I like traditions, so I think we'll keep that up," said Feige and this has to be good news for Iron Man fans.

Both Evans and Smulders admitted that the proposition of working on "The Avengers" was extremely intimidating and Smulders revealed that the panel was her fist Comic-Con experience. It's not likely to be her last. Smulders admitted late last month that she has been contracted to do seven more Marvel movies.

"It doesn't mean I'm doing seven films. It just means if Marvel like me, then they'll have me on more," the actress however clarified on the said contract.

The "Loki" and "Captain America" actors also discussed the characters' evolution and fighting styles. "I can't say I ever got a day in jeans and a t-shirt," Tom Hiddleston said of his wardrobe as Loki. "It was mostly leather and metal - that's how we like it in Asgard! The heavier, the better," the actor added.

Marvel's "The Avengers" is the super hero team up of a lifetime featuring iconic Marvel Super Heroes Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D. finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins.

The film stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner with Samuel L. Jackson and Tom Hiddleston and it is directed by Joss Whedon. Marvel's "The Avengers" will be released May 4, 2012.
