Urban Outfitters was named respondent to a suit brought by the parents of American fashion model Hailey Clauson. The suit against Urban Outfitters is grounded on photograph of the 16-years old model showing her in a sexually suggestive pose which appeared on a tee shirt.

Clauson's parents seeks $28 million in damages from Urban Outfitters, photographer Jason Lee Parry and two other stores, claiming that they never permitted the used of the photos on tee shirts or any other apparel.

The controversial photo was taken March last year when Clauson was only 15-years old and shows her in a simple top and tiny shorts. Clausn was running her fingers through her long hair and has her legs spread wide open when Parry snapped the photograph. The photo shoot received approval from Clauson's parents, but the photograph itself did not meet their standards.

“She is posed in a blatantly salacious manner with her legs spread, without a bra, revealing portions of her breasts," Clauson's parents alleged in the law suit, filed last week in Manhattan.

"The image of Teen in a spread eagle position making her crotch area the focal point of the image may portray a child in a sexually suggestive manner and may be in violation of one or more federal and/or state laws.”

The lawsuit also notes “that it also appears to reveal what some observers believe to be pubic hair.” The parents voiced their concern that pedophiles may see their daughter an "object of pruprient interests."
