US Murder Suspect Surrenders after Strangling Girlfriend to Death and Posting Images on 4chan
A U.S. man, who allegedly posted photos of his dead girlfriend online after killing her, surrendered to police in Oregon last Wednesday, November 5. He was charged with second-degree murder.
It was 33-year-old David Michael Kalac who was charged with second-degree murder that involved domestic violence. His 30-year-old live-in girlfriend's lifeless body was discovered in their Washington apartment last Tuesday. Amber Lynn Coplin's driver's license was next to her head. There was "dead" scrawled on the documents. The window blinds had "bad news" written on them while "she killed me first" written on the bedroom wall, NBC News reported. Kalac allegedly strangled Coplin, according to Kitsap County authorities.
An online user posted photos of a dead woman on 4chan website. It is the same website infamous for "The Fapenning" controversy involving personal nude photos of celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence. The user posted images of the naked body of a woman who looked dead. There were red marks on the neck. The photos were accompanied with a message saying that it was much more difficult to strangle someone to death than what is portrayed in films. The affidavit of the case later confirmed that the online images had matched the crime scene.
The user who claimed to have strangled the woman to death asked others to check the news for Port Orchard in a few hours to know more about the deceased woman. The user said that the son of the woman would find her body after coming home from school. The son was going to call the cops as the user said that he had wanted to share the images before he will be arrested. Coplin's dead body was eventually discovered by her 13-year-old son only minutes after the images had been posted on 4chan. He called his father who called 911, according to investigators.
Kalac ran away in a gold Ford Focus owned by his girlfriend. He played "hide and seek" with officers before surrendering at a rail station in Wilsonville, New York Daily News reported. Police said that Kalac had a criminal record in Virginia and Washington. Kalac was held on $2 million bail last Thursday.
