U.S. stocks retreated in Monday's trading on Wall Street.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 73.25 to 34,647.87 at 9:38 a.m. ET.

The Standard & Poor's 500 Index slipped 29.96 to 4,458.32.

The NASDAQ Composite Index moved lower 184.56 to 13,526.44.
