"Vampire Diaries" star Nina Dobrev turns 23 and she celebrates it quite fashionably. Apart from trending on Twitter, Nina celebrated her birthday at the famous La Cordon Blue.

Fans of the People's Choice Award winner for Favorite TV Drama Actress took to Twitter to celebrate Dobrev's 23rd birthday. On midnight of January 9, fans of the actress rallied together to get the message, #HappyBirthdayNina, which became a trending topic. Of course, with 1.5 million followers and fans, they succeeded and even Nina's co-star and boyfriend, Ian Somerhalder, joined in on the fun.

"#HappyBirthdayNina is trending right now:)" tweeted Ian Somerhalder. "Happy Birthday Nina!!!!!! 35,wow you look great!"

With that being a trending topic, it's no surprise the actress noticed it and it was evident that she was delighted and touched.

"Wow, it is!! So cool, thanks guys!" tweeted Nina. Having not said enough to her fans, the "Vampire Diaries" star followed it up with an even longer message originally posted on Hollywood Life.

"Taking a moment to reflect and appreciate what a great year it has been.. To be thankful I that even survived to another birthday. So many things, places and people I've met who have touched and changed my life this year... Looking forward to all those I will encounter tomorrow. So, this is my Good night to you all!! I have to get to bed early because i have to be up at 5a for work! Namaste!" wrote Dobrev.

The Twitter celebration was one thing for Nina's fans, but the actress had better and bigger celebrations in mind. She and Ian plus a few friends headed out to La Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Atlanta to have some good ol' dining and booze.

Nina also had the chance to whip up her own dish when instructors of the college taught her and her guests how to prepare a few meals. Chef and instructor of the college, Dan Harrar, delightfully showed Nina how to prepare a gourmet meal which included a Thai chicken satay kebab, lemongrass steamed Thai mussels, coconut milk, seared Salmon and tuna salad.

Of course, staff members of La Cordon Bleu were surprised to see the actress and serve her on her special day. They presented Nina with their own version of a "Vampire Diaries" cake and with the smile on Nina's face, it looks like the effort paid off.
