The race to save Elena is on and the Mystic Falls gang will have to work together to eject Katherine out of Elena's body. "Vampire Diaries" Season 5, Episode 15 features Stefan played by Paul Wesley, Caroline played by Candice Accola and Matt played by Zach Roerig in a desperate mission to save Elena's life in a titled episode "Gone Girl."

Child actress Ashlyn Jade who plays Nadia will have some flashbacks which will take fans to the olden times and will give a substantial backstory to Nadia's long journey of finding her ever-elusive mother, Katherine Pierce. The flashback will also give a glimpse to Nadia's human before she turned into a kick-ass vamp.

The official synopsis of The CW's "Gone Girl" reads: While Nadia (guest star Olga Fonda) remembers her centuries-long search for her mother, Stefan (Paul Wesley), Caroline (Candice Accola) and Matt (Zach Roerig) come up with a desperate new plan to save Elena's (Nina Dobrev) life. For the second time, Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) must turn to Liv (guest star Penelope Mitchell) for help. Damon baits Tyler (Michael Trevino) into a nasty confrontation, then takes off to seek revenge on Dr. Wes (guest star Rick Cosnett). Caroline and Tyler come to a new understanding. Finally, Bonnie learns of a terrifying secret that will threaten the lives of all her friends.

Just like any day in Mystic Falls, there is another secret that will threaten the lives of the close-knit friends. While Stefan will have a hard time on Matt does revelation about Elena know that he hooks up with Katherine/Elena on the Feb. 27 episode, "No Exit."

"I've had so much fun playing Elena this season because she is lighter and happier," says Nina Dobrev in an interview posted on TV Guide. "She's unaware of a pretty tragic thing that has happened, so she's not affected ... and it will go dark eventually, but right now she's carefree and fun-loving and excited about her new boyfriend and college."

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 5, Episode 15 is scheduled to air on March 6, Thursday, 8 P.M. ET on The CW.
