The premiere episode of "Vampire Diaries" Season 5 had Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) surprised from finding out that her murdered roommate Megan (Hayley Kiyoko) and father Grayson Gilbert (Jason MacDonald) know each other. The E! Online report currently claims that Papa Gilbert will be making a flashback appearance in an episode for this new season perhaps to shed light on the mysterious connection with Megan.

A vampire attacked and killed Elena and Caroline's new roommate, Megan, and the two girls decided to conduct their own investigation on the murder in their college. Caroline got hold of Megan's phone and when Elena took a look into it, she discovered a photograph that shows Megan and Grayson together.

A lot of questions and speculations were raised regarding the strange connection of Elena's dad with Megan. It is known that Grayson Gilbert became an active member of the Founders Council in Mystic Falls with his strong belief that vampires are evil creatures and they should be killed.

No, not from the dead, but in a flashback. He's always been this amazing support system and if he stops supporting her desire to keep her death a secret, there will be major problems," Ms Graham teased.
