'Vampire Diaries' Season 5 Spoilers: Paul Wesley-Directed Episode 18 Given the Title 'Resident Evil'
"Vampire Diaries" fans are aware that actor Paul Wesley made his directorial debut in a Season 5 episode of the hit CW TV series but there was one thing missing, the episode's title. The latest spoiler reports on the upcoming episode reveal that the title will be "Resident Evil."
The Wet Paint report claims the detail came from Charity Buzz, the Web site that currently auctions Paul Wesley's voice as a personalized outgoing voicemail message. "Paul Wesley currently stars as Stefan Salvatore in the CW's The Vampire Diaries, and recently made his directorial debut with the episode "Resident Evil." He also co-produced and co-stars in the feature film Before I Disappear, which recently premiered in competition at the 2014 South by Southwest Film Festival," the Charity Buzz description on the 31-year-old actor reads.
The episode title reminds TVD fans of the "Resident Evil" movie franchise given that the story is about the outcome of the corporate-developed virus released that created monsters and zombies which is similar to what Dr Wes Maxfield (Rick Cosnett) did. In Episode 13 "Total Eclipse of the Heart," Dr Maxfield succeeded in creating a virus that would make vampires go after vampire blood and injecting it in Damon Salvatore's (Ian Somerhalder) body.
Then, Dr Maxfield enhanced the virus with the werewolf venom in Episode 15 "Gone Girl" which ended in Elena Gilbert's (Nina Dobrev) body after her evil doppelganger Katherine injected the "Ripper" virus in her before she died and disappeared. It looks like the "Ripper" storyline of Damon and Elena will still continue in the Paul Wesley-directed episode and the evil taking over Mystic Falls in the upcoming episode will be Markos (Raffi Barsoumian), the Leader of the Travellers.
"The Vampire Diaries" Season 5 is set to return on Thursday night, March 20, from another brief hiatus with Episode 16 titled "While You Were Sleeping." The brand new episode will be focusing on Elena finally waking up and dealing with the enhanced virus in her system.
Two more sneak peek videos from the next episode were released to tease the TVD fans on what will happen next. The first video shows Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Liv (Penelope Mitchell) talking about witch spells. Click HERE to watch the Vampire Diaries 5x16 Webclip "While You Were Sleeping."
The second video showed Jeremy (Steven R McQueen) and Matt (Zach Roerig) feeding a really hungry "Ripper" vampire Damon Salvatore. In the sneak peek video, Jeremy carefully gives Damon a cup of blood knowing that the bad boy vampire has the capability of suddenly attacking him.
Damon obviously became irritated telling Jeremy "Give me the damn cup" but the young Gilbert pointed out that he was just being cautious because Damon previously told his murder buddy Enzo (Michael Malarkey) to just strangle him to death.
Then, Damon responded that Jeremy should just quit crying because he is still around but Matt was quick to jump in the conversation and remind about what happened to Aaron Whitmore (Shaun Sipos). "Weren't he and Elena tight? Does she know Damon killed him?" Matt asked.
Damon noticed that the two were threatening him but the "Ripper" vampire still gave his I'm-not-scared reply. "No, she doesn't because I'm going to be the one to tell her. And if either one of you clowns beats me to it, I'll rip your tongue out," Damon threatened back. Click HERE to watch the sneak peek video.
Find out what happens in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 5, Episode 16 "While You Were Sleeping" on Thursday night, March 20, at 8 pm ET on the CW Network.
