Ian Somerhalder recently shared a screen shot from the first episode of "The Vampire Diaries " season 6's first episode on his Instagram. The shot showed him talking to someone in a car. The star also went ahead and posted a shot of script from season 6.

"Wow, it's started!" Ian wrote in his Instagram message. "This is a screen shot, I'll probably get in trouble for it;) from the 1st episode. Hmmm, who am I talking to??? Here I am, doing some post production work on Season 6 of The Vampire Diaries with our INCREDIBLE post-production team," the actor wrote alongside the picture.

Somerhalder even praised the post production team and called the unsung heroes.

In the finale of "The Vampire Diaries" season 5, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) supposedly die. Since then fans are anxious to know about Damon's return in season 6. The screen shot shared by Ian hints at the probablity of Damon's return to "TVD" season 6. However, it is not known in which capicity would he return.

Meanwhile, the executive producer of the show, Julie Pelc said that in the beginning of season 6 the characters would be seen coming to terms with the death of Damon and Bonnie.

"I think the most important thing I can say about season 6 is our characters fundamentally have to come to terms with the fact that Damon and Bonnie are gone forever, and have been doing so for quite some time when we return. Some are in denial, some are still searching for answers. "They've got to be somewhere. Where are they? We've got to rescue them." Some have given up completely. Each individual character's reaction to the loss of these two people will be what informs the beginning of the sixth season," she said in Entertainment Weekly.

The CW has already shown a 30 -second teaser from the "TVD" season 6. From the trailer it seems that the things would not be easy for Elena (Nina Dobrev) as she would come to terms with Damon's death. "The Vampire Diaries" season 6 premiere would hit the televsion on Oct 2.
