‘The Vampire Diaries’ star Ian Somerhalder on Nina Dobrev’s return on the show in Season 8
“The Vampire Diaries” star Ian Somerhalder says that he has a lot of information about the show but is not sure about Nina Dobrev’s return in Season 8. The show is coming to an end after a successful run for eight seasons. The show, created by Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson, is based on L. J. Smith’s book series of the same name.
When Variety asked Ian Somerhalder about the show’s ending, he said, “I have no clue.” He claimed to have called Plec and Williamson to know about the finale but with no effective results.
“I don’t know. I have zero idea,” said Ian Somerhalder when asked about Nina Dobrev’s return to the finale. He further said, “I think the happy ending is that we got to go on this amazing ride with these two guys. They’ve lived long enough.”
The 37-year-old actor also gave his own ideas regarding the ending of “The Vampire Diaries.” He feels that the best ending would be if Damon and Stefan leave the town where they created a lot of havoc. According to Somerhalder, “Let Elena wake up and have these boys gone and never know any of this happened. A phenomenal, go humanity thing would be where these creatures don’t win.” He also added that he would like to see the boys sit on a beach, throw their rings into the sea, and just turn into ash.
In a red carpet event Nina Dobrev was asked the same question. She dogged the question subtly by saying, “That's a very very good question, we should ask the producers.”
The producers and actors are quiet but speculations are high about the popular show’s ending.
