Vegas Man Raising $1 Million for Surgery to Remove 45-kilo Scrotum
A Las Vegas man with a swelling scrotum has started a fund raising drive to surgically remove the 45-kilogram "excess baggage" in his groin area.
Wesley Warren Jr., 47, is not eligible for state funds to pay the $1 million operation for his scrotal lymphedema, so he went to the Howard Stern's radio and cable TV show to air his plight and call for donors.
Warren said he has trouble walking around and using the bathroom, cannot control urinating, gets depressed, has no job and is stared upon by people. He brings along a milk crate and pillow where he rests his scrotum.
"I want to have real friends and a relationship with a woman," he told the Las Vegas Review-Journal, according to Perthnow.com.
Warren recalled his scrotum started growing three years ago after an accident wherein he caught his testicles with his legs while twisting in bed. The scrotum swelled to the size of a soccer ball the following day after the accident.
Doctors who diagnosed his condition said the swelling was due to watery fluids in his testicles. The surgery, besides being costly, may cause him to lose his testicles and penis forever.
