'Venom' Movie Spoilers: Spider-Man Anti-Hero Version Still To Be Decided, Alex Kurtzman To Helm The Project
Sony is prepping up for a standalone movie based on the "Spider-Man" anti-hero Venom. The film is being helmed by Alex Kurtzman and there is a lot of buzz as to how Venom would be portrayed in the spinoff.
For those who are not aware, there have been various versions of "Venom" portrayed in the "Spider Man"comics.
The suits of Venom have been donned by Peter Parker, Eddie Brock, Flash Thompson and Harry Osborn. Venom is a sentient alien that requires a host to survive. In the Marvel comic universe, Venom symbiote has usually bonded with human bodies, and when the bonding happens, a dual life form emerges that is referred to as Venom.
The first host of symbiote was Spiderman (Peter Pan) but the latter parted from the organism after knowing about its destructive nature. The most famous host of the symbiote is be Eddie Brock. It was with Brock with whom the symbiote emerged in its full form: the Venom.
Kurtzman discussed the Venom character in a recent interview with Spinoff. "I would not say picking the incarnation of Venom is an easy choice. I would say that there are quite a few things about Venom that are interesting. Venom had several different iterations, and there are several things that are very unique, interesting and specific."
The script of the film is being written by Ed Solomon of "Man in Black" and "Now You See Me." The writer is still to pen down Venom's characteristics for the standalone film. Moreover, it is also being said that the Venom movie is going to be called "Venom: Carnage."
The movie is speculated to hit the theatre in 2017 as Sony would be going ahead with another spin -off "The Sinister Six" in 2016. After the release of the spinoffs, "The Amazing Spiderman 3" will be released in 2018 and will repotedly have Venom and Sinister six as villains, Screen Rant reports.
