U.S. carrier Verizon has scheduled an event on July 23, Tuesday, and hinted it would be the release date for three Motorola DROID phones.

These are the Motorola DROID Ultra, DROID Maxx and DROID Mini, based on recent photo leaks of the upcoming devices. Here are the images of the three devices, which had dropped the RAZR from its name, based on pix leaks by @evleaks.

In its invitation, Verizon said it would "unveil the next generation of one of their most popular family of devices." The event would be at the Lincoln Center Plaza in Manhattan, New York.

Earlier rumours said the DROID phones will be made of Kevlar and would feature capacitative touch keys for back, home and the app switcher. But Slashgear opined it could be an early design prior to Google's involvement in Motorola design and could possibly have switch to on-screen softkeys.

FCC filings indicated that the Motorola DROID Ultra will have support for Verizon's 4G LTE network, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi 802.11 ac support.

After the roll out of the three DROID devices, Slash Gear believes it would be the turn of the much-awaited Moto X to shine. The Moto X will likely be customisable, and Google is taking advantage of a growing patriotic spirit in the U.S. to market the device as made in the U.S., versus competitor phones that are manufactured in South Korea in the case of Samsung and LG phones, Taiwan for the HTC brand, Japan for Sony devices and China for ZTE and Huawei units.
