The most successful Kickstarter campaign ever has finally paid off.

A lot of fans of the highly-anticipated Veronica Mars movie overjoyed as they get to see a sneak peak at Comic-Con.

All of this was made possible by a record-breaking $5.7 million of donations by loyal fans and industry leaders.

The support of the fans is very much appreciated by the series' star, Kristen Bell.

The 33-year-old actress in a behind-the-scenes interview said, 'Fans are cool, but Veronica Mars fans are awesome.'

The new mother then went on to give a rundown of the storyline for the movie.

The movie is set 10 years after Veronice left Neptune High as she returns for the class reunion.

Bell was joined by the rest of the cast of the private eye drama series. The series is about a then-teenage sleuth who cracked a different case each week while working to solve more complex mystery.

Rob Thomas revealed that it has a Godfather III theme to the movie.

In addition to that, it was revealed that Veronica has not been working as a private detective since the last time the avid fans saw her. In fact, this is an important part of the movie, where Veronica goes back to the past she thought she already left behind.

Mars is now a lawyer and is set for an interview at a law firm with prospective employer who is played by Jamie Lee Curtis.

Other cast members from the old series also returned for the movie. The first show of Veronica Mars aired on 2004.

Avid tweeter Bell was excited over the trailer wth an enthusiastic tweet on her Twitter account: "'#veronicamars is trending #1 on twitter right now!!!! Go Go Gadget Fan base!!!!!'

There are many things that changed in the real lives of the show's cast, most of all for the star of the series. Bell got engaged in 2010.

The Veronica Mars film opens in the cinemas in 2014.
