The Veronica's other half, Jessica Origliasso launched a series of stinging messages on her Twitter account, following the rejection of her adverstisement for People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

"I think the inhumane & unacceptable reality of the FUR INDUSTRY is FAR more confronting and offensive, then giving the Australian public the right to the COLD HARD FACTS, of what these animals go through."

"My Generation is not an ignorant generation! We will not let the government censor COMPASSIONATE issues that are important in MY modern day society."

"The fact that a lot of the Australian magazine media would rather support this Horrid trade export, and the sick reality of how the fashion world obtain 'fur', rather than stand & voice united, for compassion on this issue, disappoints me to no end."

But apparently, it was the story, not the ad, that was turned down by New Idea because it was too graphic, according to a PETA spokeswoman. In the advertisement, the Origliasso twins are featured holding up what appears to be skinned rabbits. (See accompanying photos).

The Veronicas are an Australian electropop pop-rock band fronted by twin sisters Jessica andLisa Origliasso. The Origliasso twins also have their own line of clothing, where no fur is used, and had released two studio albums, both of which received mutiple platinums from ARIA.
