Victoria Beckham is too expensive to appear at Australia's annual Melbourne Cup horse race set to be held tomorrow. Beckham has reportedly asked for almost one million dollar just to appear at the event with her husband David.

The British celebrity asked for $961,080 (£600,000) to attend the Melbourne Cup race alongside her husband, soccer star David. However, the sponsors, which includes Australia's Channel Seven, found her demand too high and declined.

Despite Mrs. Backham's non-appearance in Melbourne Cup race, David's trip to Australia will push through as he and his LA Galaxy team is set to play a friendly game against Australia's New Castle Jets in New South Wales.

Daily Mirror, reported that David's trip to Australia was the reason behind Victoria's offer to the Melbourne cup race sponsors. According to the paper, Mrs. Beckham is more than welcome to attend Melbourne horse race, but it was the money that hindered her appearance

A spokesman for the Melbourne Cup race said that Victoria's representive had relayed the celebrity's request to attend Melbourne Cup race but the timing of the request was very late to organise a sponsorship. However, the same spokesman said Melbourne Cup would love to have Beckham next year.
