Video of North Korean Leader Kim Jong-Un’s Ex-Girlfriend is the Alleged Reason He Had Her Executed

The YouTube video shown above is believed to be the reason why North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un had his former girlfriend, Hyon Song-wol, allegedly executed on Aug 29, 2013.

The video, initially uploaded to the Chinese video host YouKu, is not pornographic at all but just a dance routine set with Elvis Presley's Aloha Oe as accompanying music.

It was not only Song-wol who was allegedly executed over the video, dubbed as a sex tape, but also 11 other entertainers, including the two Korean women in the dance number.

The report of the alleged execution, said to be via machine gun, came out in a South Korean newspaper and is not verified. The report claimed that the 12 singers, musicians and dancers from two popular groups made videos of themselves engaged in sex acts and then they sold the videos, which angered the North Korean leader.

The group were said not to have faced any trial but were ordered to march in front of a firing squad and were decimated as their families and members of the group were ordered to watch their killing.

The families and friends were taken then to a labour camp because they were considered guilty by association.

The YouKu video has been watched 700,000 times, although the same video posted in YouTube has only 10,500 hits so far.

Song-wol became known in North Korea because of her hit song A Girl in the Saddle of a Steed.

Her other recordings were mostly patriotic songs with the titled Footsteps of Soldiers, I Love Pyongyang, She is a Discharged Soldier and We are Troops of the Party.

There are speculations that Ri Sol-ju, the wife of Kim and once a member of the group, approved the execution amid rumours that the leader was still in a relationship with his former girlfriend.
