Video of Pregnant Woman Standing Up to Anti-Abortion Protesters Goes Viral
A pregnant woman has effectively silenced anti-abortion protesters in London with her compelling argument. A new viral clip shows an unnamed woman calling the protesters “hypocrites” for filming and harassing women going in and out of an abortion clinic.
The video, captured by journalist Sunny Hundal, starts off with a debate with the Abort67 protesters over their filming of women entering and exiting the clinic in the Southwark neighbourhood in London. The protesters argued that they were only filming as protection from others who accuse them of harassing women, though the man notes that one woman has asked them not to film her but they still did.
After hearing both sides, the pregnant woman, who was just passing by, successfully shut down the protesters. She berated them for choosing a venue outside an abortion clinic to “judge” women of their choice.
She informed them of her work in the Kids Company charity, which provides practical and emotional support to vulnerable children, and why the protesters’ presence has a negative effect.
“It’s wrong what you’re doing. You don’t know why people are doing what they’re doing. But you want to be out here judging and then filming. And I just heard that woman there, that same woman who said, ‘I had an abortion.’ You are a hypocrite! You are a big hypocrite! You had an abortion and because you’re not happy with what you are doing you are standing out here making other people feel guilty,” she scolded the activists, particularly the “hypocrite” woman who isn’t seen in the camera.
As the passerby told them, they don’t know what women’s reasons are for aborting their pregnancy. They might have been abused or raped, but whatever their reason is, it’s their choice, and the protesters aren’t doing anything positively helping by judging them. She also pointed out that the news about babies being abandoned in a bin around the world because people like the protesters judge women who want to abort their babies before birth.
“This is wrong on so many levels. And you’re a liar because she told you to turn off the camera. Be honest, man. Be real with the people ... And all you think about is if you think it’s right. You get raped by soldiers and all different people and you tell me what you would do after that,” she continued.
Abort67 previously claimed to the Telegraph that the protesters’ presence outside abortion clinics in the UK “empowers” women. The protesters carry enlarged photos of aborted foetuses to show women what abortion does to unborn children.
Hundal’s video has now over 750,000 views on YouTube since it was uploaded on Wednesday. Many people on social media also commend the pregnant woman for her articulate and persuasive argument about pro-choice. Her identity hasn’t been uncovered or perhaps not yet revealed, though people suggest making a donation to Kids Company to show their support for the unnamed woman.
Lot of people suggesting that those who admire the anti-abortionist-bollocking woman donate to @KidsCompanyUK, where she works. DONE.
