Two days after the band OK Go released its official video on YouTube for "The Writing's on the Wall," the video already amassed over 2.5 million views. The 4.16-minute long music video unravels plenty of surprises along the way until the end.

The band's video seemed like it was taken from a warehouse. It showcased various optical illusion, perspectives, and perspective tricks all throughout the music video. Each band member was featured one by one as they sing portions of the song. The outfit of the featured band member resembled the colors or design of the optical illusion in the background.

For instance, band guitarist Damian Kulash donned an orange outfit and posed in front of orange-colored set of apparatus. The bass guitarist Tim Nordwind with his blue outfit came out from the circle of blue-colored circle designs. The guitarist Andy Ross with his yellow garments looked like it was part of a yellow-colored triangle ensemble. The drummer Dan Kanopka with blue circles on his outfit walked through a pathway of blue colored circles.

Then the entire band members also had their segment in stripe illusions at the background. There was also a part where the band members played perspective tricks at several piles of black and white cubes. There was also a portion where one band member was seen riding a bicycle as if it was under the road. Then Tim Norwind was facing at a pile of things arranged together that looked like himself.

The music video ended with large optical illusion prints of the song title "The Writing's on the Wall." The huge production crew who made the music video possible came out from the printed song title.

According to an article from Mashable, Tim Nordwind shaved half of his beard for a special illusion in the music video. It was revealed that the carefully choreographed music video was completed with just one take. Nordwind stated that the process of filming the "The Writing on the Wall" music video with just one take is both exhilarating and nerve-wracking at the same time

The music video is part of the band's album "Hungry Ghosts" which is set for release on Oct. 14, 2014. According to the accompanying description of the video on YouTube, fans who pre-ordered the album will get the song "The Writing on the Wall" and three more songs as instant downloads.
