Miley Cyrus arrived at the 2013 MTV VMAs sans Liam Hemsworth further igniting rumours that the couple broke up and her raunchy performance with Robin Thicke has created a stir with the viewers including celebrity guests in attendance. The former Disney star is currently slammed on Facebook, Tumbler and Twitter with some Netizens suggesting that the "Hunger Games" star should dump her.

Australian actor Liam Hemsworth may not be around to watch Miley's performance but the negative reactions from what happened at the show will most likely reach him. Will Miley Cyrus' performance at the VMAs strain her relationship with Liam Hemsworth and have their engagement called-off?

At the 2013 VMAs, Miley Cyrus appeared at the red carpet posing to the photographers with producer Mike Will Made It. The "Hannah Montana" actress was spotted wearing the engagement ring but showed no signs of disappointment that Liam Hemsworth was not there to show support.

The Hollywood Life reports the last time that Miley and Liam were seen together in public was at the premiere of "Paranoia" on Thurday, August 8. However, the two were hardly talking or touching each other that night resulting to rumours that there is trouble in paradise.

"She's totally in love with Liam, but they are having troubles. They say opposites attract and that's true but it can also work against them. Miley is so much more open and out there with everything and Liam is pretty reserved and that's something they fight about a lot," an anonymous source close to Ms Cyrus exclusively revealed to HollywoodLife.com.

The source further shared: "Miley even quit Twitter for a while because it was causing so many fights. But she couldn't stay off so she ended up promising him that she would never post about their personal life and she's been pretty good about that." However, this insider confirmed that Liam does love Miley and he will always be around when Miley needs him.

Social networking sites are currently going crazy as users express their opinion over Miley Cyrus' VMAs performance on Sunday night, August 25. On Twitter, users show their disgust towards Miley and concern towards Liam on about how he must feel right now.

The Inquisitr report claims Liam Hemsworth did not show up at the 2013 MTV VMAs to show support for Miley Cyrus because he was busy filming in Canada for his upcoming flick titled "Cut Bank."
