Vodafone Australia has put up a teaser site that allows users to register to get information on "this year's biggest smartphone release," which the ad hints is "coming soon to Vodafone."

Given that there is only one smartphone everyone's been talking about, it's not a leap to think that this could be a teaser for Apple's much anticipated iPhone 5. Vodafone has been carrying Apple devices since early 2008 which was also the first time Apple began selling the iPhone through two different carriers in the same market.

Earlier this month Vodafone had hinted at an iPhone 5 in its product pages before being taken down. The company later refused to comment on why the listing made it on its site in the first place. The teaser could be for another device but if you want to be notified about the release, you can log in to Vodafone Australia's webpage.

Meanwhile in another installment of "when will the iPhone 5 be released?" saga analysts and news sites are not placing their bets on mid-October. A report from Apple Insider is saying that Apple has been denying its employees vacation requests for two periods in the middle of October, suggesting that the tech giant is expecting a huge influx of customers during that period.

The two periods are Oct. 9 to 12 and 14 to 15. Insiders say that the first period is slated as the release of iOS 5 and the second being the release date for the iPhone 5. This would follow the trend set by previous iOS and iPhone releases. Remember that iOS3 and the iPhone 3 was released in June 17 and 21 and the iOS 4 and iPhone 4 was released June 21 and 24 respectively.
