The Voice Australia 2013: Ricky Martin Replaces Keith Urban as Mentor-Judge
Ricky Martin will be joining Delta Goodrem, Seal and Joel Madden as judge-mentor in The Voice Australia 2013.
Martin appears to be thrilled over the latest development in his career. He tweeted, "Sending some mad love to everyone in #Australia! Cant wait to go back! Peace!"
The "Livin' La Vida Loca" star was seen earlier this year as McKinley High's Spanish teacher David Martinez on the Fox TV show "Glee."
Martin recently topped a poll by Broadway.com on the "Sexiest Man on Broadway." But he only has until the end of January to play Che in Broadway's "Evita." Elena Roger, who plays Eva, and Michael Cerveris, who plays Juan Perón, will also exit the production. Their replacements are expected to be announced soon.
When it was reported a couple of weeks ago that Martin has sold his Golden Beach mansion, the media interpreted it as a sign that he was looking for a permanent residence in New York.
Realtor.com earlier reported Martin has sold his mansion for $12.8 million. The Huffington Post reported Martin bought the property in 2007 for $16.2 million. It spent two years on the market, prompting Martin to sell at a reduced price.
Martin may have not planned it, but now he has to fly out of the states. There are no reports yet whether the actor-singer will take his adopted twins, Matteo and Valentino to Australia. The twins are now four years old.
Urban left "The Voice" to sit at the American Idol judging panel with Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey and Randy Jackson.
