‘The Voice’ Battles recap: Miley Cyrus, Adam Levine keep Team Alicia artists [VIDEOS]
Alicia Keys has let go of her protégé Lauren Diaz and chose to keep the soft-spoken Wé McDonald after “The Voice” battles but Miley Cyrus saved the YouTube sensation from exiting the competition.
Keys chose McDonald over Diaz after the two sang Janis Joplin’s “Maybe” in what could be the most intense showdown on the first round of “The Voice” Battles Monday night.
“I chose Wé because she really has a real individual voice and that is going to take her a long way,” the Grammy Award-winning coach explained.
Nevertheless, Diaz was not eliminated from the talent search after Cyrus stole her to join Team Miley. (Read: ‘The Voice’ update: Team Alicia’s Lauren Diaz goes viral on YouTube, Top 10 trending Blind Auditions [VIDEO])
