'The Voice' season 11 finale recap: Sundance Head wins; watch most memorable clips; final episode highlights
Sundance Head wins a huge sum of money plus a record deal as the champion of "The Voice" season 11
The iron has been cast and Sundance Head has been proclaimed as America’s best singer for this season of “The Voice.” For the finals, the only remaining finalists were Billy Gilman, Josh Gallagher, Sundance Head and We McDonald. In the end, Sundance Head emerged as the champion of “The Voice” season 11.
Sundance Head is a country singer who sang his way to the championship as voters were awed by his small town charm. The country man with the big hat and the bigger beard had routinely been on top of the iTunes charts in the previous weeks, which points at nothing but strong fan support. This marks Coach Blake Shelton’s fifth win in the show. Billy Gilman, a former child singer and fan favourite, ended up in second place. We McDonald took the third spot and Josh Gallagher ended up fourth.
The finals for “The Voice” kicked off with a “Ferris Beuller’s Day Off” parody, which starred coaches Adam and Blake. There, Adam said that he is not interested in doing press and that he will be playing hooky. There, Adam sported a wet Mohawk and said that he loves to impress and that he “hates” Blake Shelton. He then distracted Blake by saying that he did not know that Gwen was here.
Later on, Stevie Wonder and Ariana Grande perform a duet of “Faith” from Sing. The show’s Top 12 emerged on the background to join as backup. John Legend then took the stage with McDonald where they performed his song “Love Me Now.” Sting performed his song “I Can’t Stop Thinking About You” after.
The show proceeded to a performance of “Proud Mary” by Christian, Courtney and Sa'Rayah. It was a soulful performance but ended up with a rock feel to it. Miley was not able to control herself and stood up and danced to the tune. Other celebrity performances for the night included The Weeknd, Kiss with Sundance Head, Billy Gilman and Kelly Clarkson and Bruno Mars.
Of course, the show ended with Sundance Head grabbing the trophy with both arms. He took his large hat off and waved to the crowd as the show came to a close and everyone was cheering for him. As season 11 champion, he collects a large monetary prize, as well as a record deal to help jumpstart his professional singing career.
