The Voice: Season 5 Returns Tonight With Four Original Coaches (See Video)
The Voice is officially back fresh from winning the 2013 Emmy Awards for the Best Reality-Competition category, the second show after "Top Chef" that overthrew the unbeatable "Amazing Race. "
The Voice executive producer Mark Burnett was interviewed backstage after his acceptance speech, and he says, "Considering everyone comes up to me weekly and says 'I love your show The Amazing Race,' it feels pretty good to beat the show that I don't produce and people think I do produce."
When asked about the on-going rivalry and comparison of "The Voice" and "American Idol", Burnett simply says, "This is a very different show," Burnett said. "This is a kind show. There's no humiliation in The Voice. And people said these types of shows would never work without humiliation, but not true. America loves kindness and freshness and brilliant music. And so we never felt the comparison ourselves. We're back tomorrow night. And we want to be No. 1 again. And this is great."
The Season 5 premiere is laden with genuine talent that Adam Levine declared that its the end of the season after the third audition.
