‘The Voice’ Season 6 (2014): Meet Top 3 Finalists for Grand Finale [WATCH BEST OF PERFORMANCES]
'The Voice' Season 6 (2014) revealed its top 3 finalists in Semifinals elimination episode on star studded Tuesday night episode. These top 3 will now compete in the final round next week. The show premiered on Feb. 24, 2014 and welcomed 48 artists, at first. Over the period of two months, these artists have been narrowed down to just final three-- Josh Kaufman from Team Usher, Christina Grimmie from Team Adam and Jake Worthington from Team Blake.
NBC will host "The Voice" Season 6 (2014) finale next week, beginning on May 19, 2014. On this day, top 3 will compete against each other to win viewers' vote. The performance episode will be followed by results episode. On this day, top 3 will perform alongside some celebrity singers before the winner of the show is announced.
Show's results are purely based on public voting. Viewers' votes will decide the fate of top 3 finalists. One out of these three finalists will be awarded with a trophy and a contract. Top 3 Finalists of 'The Voice' Season 6 (2014) Finals Round-- Josh Kaufman, Jake Worthington and Christina Grimmie
Josh Kaufman
On May 13, 2014, "The Voice" Season 6 revealed its top 3 finalists and Josh is one of them. Josh is a soul singer from Indianapolis in Indiana. This American singer/songwriter was quite young when he started pursuing music. He was just four when he started playing piano in the church and the age of 16, he appeared on an American television show called "Star Search." He went to Anderson University and graduated from Indiana University and Purdue University.
Josh Kaufman has been quite a performer. He formed a rock band in 2010 called The New Etiquette. Kaufman's fellow band members include Ryan Koch and Nate Gray. They released an EP in 2012 which consists of some six songs. He also worked as a musician in Potbelly Sandwich Shop in his hometown and took SAT tuitions.
Prior to "The Voice" Season 6(2014), Josh auditioned for "The X- Factor." He is a four-chair turnaround artist. His audition aired on March 10 episode of "The Voice" Season 6 (2014). He sang "One More Try" by George Michael and was recruited in Team Adam. Coach Usher stole him during Battle Rounds 2 when he was unable to beat other team member Delvin Choice.
The first time he received iTunes Bonus was when his Top 12 Live Shows performance figured in iTunes Top 200 Singles Chart. He sang "Stay With Me" by Sam Smith and was saved by public vote.
The second time he was given the privilege was for his performance of "I Can't Make You Love Me" by Bonnie Raitt as Top 8 Live performance.
His semifinals performance of "All of Me" by John Legend reached the fourth position on the iTunes Top 200 Singles chart.
According to his NBC bio, Josh Kaufman is married man and has three kids. He works as a local musician and tutor to SAT students to support his family. He hopes "The Voice" will provide him with a platform to become a full-time musician.
Jake Worthington
Jake Worthington is the second finalist of "The Voice" Season 6 (2014). This is not the first time Jake Worthington appeared on "The Voice." Prior to getting selected Season 6, Jake auditioned for show's previous season. But he could not make it. He is a country singer and got recruited in Blake Shelton's team, the singer who himself is a renowned country artist.
In his audition, Jake Worthington sang "Don't Close Your Eyes" by Keith Whitley and got three chairs to turn around.
He discovered his talent and passion for music only when he was recuperating from a severe back injury.
His NBC profile describes him as a "true country kid." The Web site notes he loves fishing, four-wheeling and mudding as pastimes.
Jake defeated Lexi Luca in the Battle Round 1 and Tess Boyer in Battle Rounds 2. He received his first iTunes privilege for his semifinals performance of the song "Heaven" by Bryan Adam.
Christina Grimmie
Christina Grimmie is the third finalist for "The Voice" Season 6 (2014) who was saved by viewers vote during Instant Save voting window.
Christina is a 20-year-old pianist, singer and songwriter. She belongs to Marlton in New Jersey. She was just five when she discovered her love for music. She started singing at five and playing piano at the age of ten. She is half Italian and half Romanian.
Christina Grimmie has been a performer from a very young age. She is a YouTube artist and quite a sensational one. She is recognized for her covers of songs by some high profile artists like Demi Lovato, Christina Aguilera, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and more. She is known as zeldaxlove64 on YouTube and has more than two million subscribers to her YouTube channel. She is the fourth most subscribed YouTube artist.
She started her career as YouTube artist in 2009 when she uploaded her first cover "Don't Wanna be Torn" by Hannah Montana. One of her best YouTube cover is "Just a Dream" that she composed with a fellow YouTube artist Sam Tsui. This version of Nelly's song garnered 92 million views. In total she has more than 272 million views.
In MyYouTube competition, she ranked at second position behind Selena Gomez and ahead of Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and Justin Bieber.
Selena Gomez's father Brian Teefey is her manager since 2010 when he first discovered her. She has been part of many stage performances including UNICEF charity concert, DigiTour 2011 and more. She opened for Selena Gomez & The Scene and Selena Gomez's Star Dance Tour. Her first EP "Find Me" was released in 2011.
On "The Voice" Season 6 (2014) she was a four-chair turnaround artist. Miley Cyrus' "The Wrecking Ball" helped her chose her own mentor and she selected Adam Levine. She got her first iTunes Bonus privilege for her performance of "Hold On, We're Going Home" by Drake during Top 10 Live Shows. Her second gig that got her iTunes Bonus was "How to Love" by Lil Wayne during Top 8 Live Shows.
