‘The Voice’ Season 9 Live Top 12 Performances: Jordan Smith delivers a touching performance of ‘Great Is Thy Faithfulness’ [Videos]
“The Voice” Season 9 is inching towards its finale and the competition can’t get any tougher. In a bid to continue their streak in the show, the contestants including Amy Vachal, Emily Ann Roberts, Jeffery Austin, Mark Hood and Madi Davis, presented a spectacular show in the 18th episode titled “Live Top 12 Performances.”
The episode began with a moment of silence to mourn for the victims of Paris attacks on Friday. Then, the top 12 contestants of "The Voice" 2015 performed one by one to impress the judges. Braiden Sunshine from Team Gwen was the first contender on the stage and he performed “Renegade” by Styx. Gwen gave a standing ovation to laud him for the performance. The other coaches were also impressed by his performance.
Amy Vachal from Team Adam performed her own version of Drake’s “Hotline Bling.” Blake complimented the singer by calling her “elegant” and “classy.” Next contender to hop on stage was Team Pharrell’s Mark Hood who performed “Against All Odds” by Phil Collins. Pharrell was smitten by the performance that he asked everyone to stand up again for Mark and even made an appeal to vote for Mark.
It was then time for Team Blake’s Emily Ann Roberts’ performance. She performed “Blame it On Your Heart” by Patty Loveless. Gwen compliments the contender by saying that she is “already a country star.”
Korin Bukowski from Team Gwen was next to perform. She sang “Titanium” by Sia and David Guetta. By the end of the performance, Gwen was on her feet to appreciate Korin and the crowd was cheering for her. Blake said that she completely nailed the song.
Barrett Baber from Team Blake was the next hopeful on "The Voice" stage and he performed “Right Here Waiting” by Richard Marx. Adam was amused by Barrett’s passion and dedication. Next was 16-year-old Madi Davis from Team Pharrell who performed “Who Will Save Your Soul” by Jewel. All the coaches were quite impressed by Madi’s performance.
Jeffery Austin from Team Gwen was next to perform and he sang “Let It Go” by James Bay. Gwen was again on her feet to cheer her team member. Adam called him “one of the best in the competition.”
The next performance in the latest season of "The Voice" was delivered by Team Adam’s country singer Shelby Brown who sang “In Color” by Jamey Johnson. After Shelby, it was time for Team Pharrell’s Evan McKeel. Evan sang “This Is It” by Kenny Loggins and the judges were all praises for this performance.
Jordan Smith from Team Adam followed soon after and he performed “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” by Chris Rice/Thomas Chisholm. He received a standing ovation by all the four judges. The audience was left in tears by the end of Jordan’s performance. It was truly the most touching performance on “The Voice” Season 9, so far.
The last "The Voice" 2015 contestant to perform on stage in this episode was Team Blake’s Zach Seabaugh. Zach sang “My Love” by Little Texas. After the performance, Gwen predicted that Zach has a great future and he “is going to be a huge star.”
