‘The Voice’ update: Miley Cyrus won’t quit despite feud with coaches
Miley Cyrus remains determined to win “The Voice” on her maiden season at the NBC’s singing talent show despite brewing tension with fellow coaches.
The “Wrecking Ball” singer continues to recruit up-and-coming artists under Team Miley. After the second airing of “The Voice” season 11 blind auditions Tuesday, Team Miley has already recruited five members: Darby Walker, Courtnie Ramirez, Ali Caldwell, Sa’rayah and Sophia Urista.
Various media reported about the alleged feud between Cyrus and long-time coach Adam Levine. But the Blind Auditions preview reveal that the four coaches are competing in recruiting for the best contestants to join their respective teams. ‘The Voice’ team compositions
As of Sep. 20, Levine has recruited four singers: Riley Elmore, Andrew DeMuro, Billy Gilman and Brendan Fletcher. Newbie coach Alicia Keys has gotten five artists: Wé McDonald, Jason Warrior, Dave Moisan, Christian Cuevas and Lauren Diaz. Finally, country singer Blake Shelton enlisted five contestants: Sundance Head, Dana Harper, Gabe Broussard, Ethan Tucker and Dan Shafer.
Cyrus and Keys replaced former “The Voice” coaches Pharrell Williams and Christina Aguilera. Some critics earlier threatened to boycott the NBC singing talent show with Cyrus’ inclusion in the panel of coaches. (Read: ‘The Voice’ fans ask NBC to fire Miley Cyrus)
“The Voice” aired its preview episode on NBC after the Rio 2016 Olympic’s closing ceremony. The maiden episode featuring the blind auditions was televised Sep. 19.
