Original air date on NBC: Mondays and Tuesdays
On November 7’s episode of “The Voice,” some of the best performances of the season were belted out by the top 20 as the competition gets tighter as the show progresses. The playoff rounds opened with the Top 20 singing their hearts out to get enough votes to land them in the much coveted Top 12.
Team Alicia’s Christian Cuevas sang his heartfelt rendition of The Beatle’s “Yesterday.” Such is done beautifully to the delight of all four judges, with the soulful accompaniment of the guitar. Kylie Rothfield came next with her cover of “Satisfaction” by The Stones, rocking the audience including all four judges. We McDonald went next, sang “Home” and absolutely slayed it. Josh Halverson followed and he sang Sam Cooke’s “Cupid,” giving it a folksy twist to the crowd’s delight. Lastly, for team Alicia was Sa’Rayah who sang “I’d Rather Go Blind” where she showcased her powerful voice.
Team Blake followed and began with Dana Harper who sang Hall and Oates’ “Maneater,” giving the song her own vibe. Austin Allsup came next and performed his groovy rendition of “I Aint Living Long Like This.” Jason Warrior performed Drake’s “One Dance” and showcased his vocal range and power. Sundance Head did his cover of “Blue Ain’t Your Color” and filled the room with beautiful sound. Last from Team Blake was Coutney Harrell who did a flawless delivery of “It Must Have Been Love.”
There were also some great performances from Team Adam and Team Miley that rocked the stage and audience as much as the others did. Unfortunately, competition was really tight and some from the Top 20 would have to be sent home.
These took place while the US elections were going on and America has cast its vote and had eight contestants eliminated from the Top 20. In the upcoming episodes, viewers will see the Top 12 compete with each other in the battle to the top. The final 12 are Christian Cuevas, Sa’Rayah, We McDonald, Sundance Head, Austin Allsup, Coutney Harrell, Ali Caldwell, Aaron Gibson, Darby Walker, Billy Gilam, Josh Gallagher and Brendan Fletcher.
“The Voice” airs Mondays and Tuesdays on NBC. The Top 12 will have their Live Performances on November 14, while the Live Top 12 Eliminations will happen on November 15.
