Samantha Knight may just be another waitress at Laishley Crab House but she got an unusually fat tip for Christmas.

The Florida waitress found $1,000 cash on a seat in the joint situated in Punta Gorda. She brought it back to a person whom she mistook the owner of the money. She later learned the money did not belong to the man she approached. It belonged to another customer named Chuck Behm from Chicago. According to WBBH-TV reports, the 'wrong' man eventually returned the money to the store on Sunday after he saw himself on TV in the news.

He came and returned the money to Knight after apologizing to her. He said he was having a lot of cash with him as he was shopping. That is why he did not realize that the money he took from the waitress did not actually belong to him. When he saw the news and found him to be a part of the story, he realized his mistake. He said the entire incident was a misunderstanding and gave an extra $100 to her for the trouble, New York Daily News reported.

Knight explained in an interview with the NBC affiliate that she did not count the money before returning it to the customer as she was in a hurry to find its owner. The customer paid the bill in cash. He did not use credit card. That was why he could not be tracked down.

The waitress contacted Behm shortly after and she was told to keep the money as a Christmas gift. Knight became overwhelmed in joy. She called her mother and expressed how ecstatic she was. She still could not believe it. She called Behm and asked whether he was sure that he wanted to give her the cash. Knight is presently pregnant and believes that the money is going to be a great help for her family.
