"The Walking Dead" returned for its fourth season on Sunday night, with a new showrunner -- Scott M. Gimple.

"This season (Season 4 of "The Walking Dead") is very beautiful," Steven Yeun, who portrays the character Glenn in AMC's horror-drama series, told the Entertainment Weekly Radio. According to the actor, there will be emphasis on character development and the story, as well, which is expected to provide "truly touching moments." But, there is a catch, here. The possibility is high that the most loved characters are likely to face horrifying events.

Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) is likely to have a love interest in the new of "The Walking Dead" but not with Carol (Melissa Mcbride). "I think in season 4, he and the Glenn character, I think they really have a lot of romantic time that they spend together, and alone time," Reedus said to The Entertainment Weekly.

"And I think, you know, it is a prison and I think that that's probably where his character is going to go. Maggie (Lauren Cohan)? Who's Maggie? You know what I mean? It's Glenn and Daryl from here on!"

"The Walking Dead" is based on the comic book series by the same name, written by Robert Kirkman. The Hollywood Reporter reports that two more characters of the comic series will now be part AMC's "The Walking Dead." Josh McDermitt has joined as a series regular to play the role of Dr. Eugene Porter, who is a former high school science teacher. Michael Cudlitz will join him as a series regular to play his travelling companion Army Sgt. Abraham Ford. Christian Serratos has also joined the cast to play the character of Rosita. Christian will have a recurring role in the season 4 of "The Walking Dead."

Gimple said to The Hollywood Reporter that the three charterers will be written according to the T.V. series, with similarity and dissimilarity from the comic series.

"The Walking Dead" Season 4 will air in two instalments. The first instalment of eight episodes started airing on Sunday, while the second instalment of eight episodes is slated to air in Feb. 2014.
